Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Ham

Pizza Express

Lion House, Red Lion St, London TW9 1RE, UK – 020 8948 7460

Food was good but service was somewhat lacking. Took a long time for tea and ice-cream when there was only 2 other tables.

Very welcoming to families but it's quite noisy since they updated it. Usually have good offers on. The staff can be a little tricky to pin down when it's busy. It's the usual Pizza Express fare which is pretty good.

Quality Fish Restaurant

11 King St, Richmond TW9 1NF, UK – 020 8948 4171

We usually visit this restaurant for Plaice and chips as it is usually fresh and delicious to eat, especially as a take away down by the river. Our recent visit 15 July 2017 was no exception to a fresh tasting crispy battered piece of plaice, with freshly cooked chips. They do not always get it right on the odd occasion but we can forgive them for the days when it is usually excellent. Their internal restaurant needs attention to be even considered suitable to sit and eat (Chef Ramsey should pay it a visit, though it is usually busy). It has a run down feel to it, there is an unpleasant odour and the waitress staff are inattentive. On this recent visit one of the two waitresses was just happy to stand and chat with a visiting friend instead of serving. We eventually decided to take the order as a take away and sit in the fresh air. The front chefs are excellent, fast, efficient and friendly and we highly recommend the food but not the sit in area. We found the owner / manager very friendly and accommodating on our visits.

Fantastic authentic 1970's fish and chip restaurant. Good food. Good prices. Takes me back to my childhood. Great for lunches.

The Gurkha's Inn Nepalese Restaurant

25 York St, Twickenham TW1 3JZ, UK – 020 8892 4505

Our new favourite curry house! Good food, professional, friendly staff who make you very welcome, and very competitively priced. We've paid far more locally for very average food whereas everything we've had at the Ghurka's has been excellent – freshly prepared and nice and hot. The Sunday lunch menu is great value too (£10?). Take-aways have all been delivered quickly too and food has been just as good as when we eat in. Highly recommended.

Best food ever! Service was friendly, clean place and decent sized portions. Went as a party of five we did book ahead, it tends to be busy. We ordered two sides, three mains and a mixed grill which was a great amount
